WHAT IS RESTORATION?

Restoration is any means used by the dentist to repair or replace your natural tooth structure. Teeth with fractures, decay, or old discolored fillings need to be restored in order to preserve the tooth.

Dentistry offers many types of restorations and restorative materials. Fillings, veneers, inlays, onlays, and crowns, are restorations that can be made of metal, porcelain, composite, or amalgam. Sometimes a combination of these restorative materials are required to achieve the patients cosmetic goals. The complexity of a restoration can range from a small tooth colored composite filling to a porcelain crown for a dental implant.
