Non-narcotic analgesics, such as aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil), and acetominophen (Tylenol) are the most commonly prescribed drugs for the relief of slight to moderate dental pain. The narcotic class of analgesics are typically reserved for moderate to severe pain. They may be prescribed for controlling pain associated with a dental infection, or for pain following dental procedures like root canals and surgical extractions. |
